Medical Acupuncture is a safe and clinically effective treatment that involves the insertion of thin needles in particular anatomical structures such as nerves and receptors of the body. The insertion of these thin needles stimulates responses in the central nervous system.
This treatment is the biomedical adoption of Chinese acupuncture methods, though it is not the same as traditional Chinese methods. It’s well known as a simple and effective approach based on neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, and pathophysiology. Medical Acupuncture does not involve tongue or pulse diagnosis, instead, the diagnosis is attained through physical examination and the patient’s history. Anatomical points relevant to the client’s condition are selected for needling.
